CU Anschutz Medical Campus Health Sciences Library

CU Anschutz Medical Campus Health Sciences Library colleagues Jerry Perry, library director, and Melissa De Santis, deputy director, contributed to a new article in the Journal of the Medical Library Association on new health sciences library buildings and spaces. The article is titled: “Building Projects in Health Sciences Libraries: Space that support redefined roles of academic health science librarians.”

The 116,000 square-foot CU library opened in 2007. In the article, Perry and DeSantis focus on the library’s gallery space that is adjacent to the reading room. They describe it as “a formal quiet space on the third floor. Both the gallery and reading room are used for special events, with catering permitted.” For more about the  exhibits policy see: http://hslibrary.ucdenver.edu/policies/exhibits/.

Since opening, the gallery has hosted numerous exhibits beginning with the work of renowned photographer John Fielder to the current Life and Limb Exhibit – Experiences of the first U.S. veterans, on display through August 31.
